Our last wedding of the year, from Brooklyn and Manhattan. Tiana and Howard started at the Roger Hotel in Manhattan. They had the penthouse on the top with a balcony and view of Empire State Building. it was so cool! We went to take the pictures at the East River State Park in Brooklyn. That’s where we got those great Manhattan skyline shots. Unfortunately it was the windiest wedding we have ever done. Combined with the 40 degree temps, we couldn’t have spent much time there. I keep shivering in a Northface jacket, while Tiana was giving me hard time as she was in a sleeveless wedding dress. (She was right though, I had to man up).
The wedding was so original at the Brooklyn Winery. Just look at those shots we had set up in the cellar with the barrels of wine. I love it so much.

Side note: As we were leaving from Manhattan to Brooklyn, the Uber driver didn’t like the road we wanted to take so he kick us out from his car. Even though we were pleading with him that it’s a wedding day, he didn’t care and we had to get a new Uber. It’s funny now, but Howard (groom) was quite pissed. He kicked the rear bumper of the car as he was taking off.

Hear, Hear!

This was our last wedding of 2015. A winter wedding. No snow but you can feel the December sun, low and very soft. Amanda and Marc found this unbelievable park in Garrison, Boscobel House and Gardens. It’s the cover image. It had so much depth with the hills and the reflecting Hudson River. Hudson Valley is beautiful anytime of the year.
The church exit (bubble shot) is one of the best, if not the best shot we have ever taken. Just perfect! Although, We can’t take credit for it, as we haven’t set it up. And then there’s dad’s toast. That perfect pause at the end, and then saying Hear, Hear! and the music takes off. I get goose bumps how it all came together at that moment. And as you might have already realized, it is also the title of this film.

After we have delivered our films to Amanda and Marc, they surprised us with a reaction video of them watching it for the first time. This is the best gift we could have ever gotten! Thanks guys for recording it (we really didn’t ask them to do it)

Thrilled that you Exist

Vineyard wedding from gorgeous Wolffer Estate, Hamptons. Kaelyn and Evan had their ceremony between the isles; a beautiful natural backdrop of a wine country ambiance. I love how those shots, of just two of them, turned out. I cannot imagine better place for a wedding in fall. The reception was held outside on the porch where all the toasts were happening. They illuminated every vineyard isle, which gave so much depth in the background.

Like No Other

Diana and Scott, one of the hottest couple we have ever had. It was quite easy to take shots of these two. That top shot of them, in front of the lake with the reds and greens, is just so lovely. The wedding was at the Muttontown Country Club. Aren’t those shots of Diana putting on dress in that beautiful room just wow? Some of our best shots. Their reception hall was set up so beautifully too. The lighting there was so soft, just gorgeous. At the end of the night they had a famous singer Reina singing their favorite songs. It was quite surreal, listening to songs I know from the radio. And one more shutout to the band Faze 4, they were kick-ass!

I Know

First time we did a wedding here at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Long Island. Beautiful gardens and many different possibilities for creative shots. Just look at the backdrop for the ceremony. I love how the flowers pop against the greenery in the back. but enough about the background. Listen to the vows, so powerful and emotional. And BTW, the only words spoken in English. The rest was in Chinese. I love Evelyn’s vows, but even more than that, I love the non-scripted words of Solomon. Hence the title “I KNOW”. I can’t believe how the music paired so well with it too. And let me not forget to mention the great photographer Brian Hatton we worked also with in the past. We love working with you Brian.

Julie & Michael

Wait until you see the slow motion we’ve got from this one. Julie and Michael got married at Briarcliff Manor, NY. They had this man made waterfall there, that is absolutely awesome for putting couple right in front and do a little slow-mo with the falling water in the background. The ceremony was at the magic hour, right when the sun was setting down. Kudos to Julie and Michael for custom vows. And Julie, your dad spirit was there with all of you the entire time. Everyone had felt it.

No Crosses Count

The top picture above is from the epic Gotham Hall. One of the most spectacular places to get married in NYC. A 19th century, seven stories high building. A former Greenwich Savings Bank. Absolutely in love with the place. Diana and Stephen did amazing job decorating it. They surprised everybody with genuine, right from the heart vows, they wrote for each other. Very funny and heart-felt.
Being film-makers, we are suckers for beautiful light, so I have to mention how perfect the light was during dancing. They even dispersed some haze/fog into the air. That’s what they use in movies to soften look of a scene and give it a depth. I hope you also notice it when watching.

Happy Around You

If you are dreaming of a wedding with the Manhattan skyline, Giando on the Water is the most perfect spot. You can not get these kind of views from downtown. Plus you cut down on some of the traffic as well. Jenna and James had a strong connection of Manhattan, especially the east side. They wanted to have those views as a backdrop for their reception. Jenna also incorporated her dad’s vintage Ford as her ride to the ceremony. It is such charming vehicle. I love those shots with them inside the car.
